Before firing do I need to remove the paper or thin plastic film(not plastic packing) from the top of fireworks?

Some people remove the top piece of paper to keep the mess down but it's not usually necessary unless it's a missile cake. A few of the Weco cakes come with an outer plastic packaging that needs to be removed before firing though.....it usually states on the back of the firework what to do.

Have a good one mate ;)

No matty260191, no need to do anything like that, Just pull the fuse away a little so it's easy to light! Safety light it stand back and enjoy your show :)

As everyone else has said leave the thin plastic stuff thats like clingfilm over fireworks and the paper tops on as this helps keep them dry as already said lol

But if its like the weco cakes and has a actual plastic sheet on top that is rigid remove this again as already said :p

Yep that's what I thought I know to remove plastic cover on Weco. Thank you all
You can always put some cling film over your cakes to keep them waterproofed

Cling film is great for waterproofing so is aluminium foil and plastic bin bags i use the black ones cheap and can easily cover the whole firework.

Usually i use plastic bin bags for large cakes and aluminium foil for smaller cakes as the foil bends nicely around the cakes and holds in place without tape :)
