15 metres spectator safety distance / 8 metres firer distance

A small selection of garden firework material compromising 13 reasonably good quality items, such as various fountains, a pinwheel and 2 x 5 shot roman candles and the usual (useless) stick lighter but one of them is a BS 7114 Cat 2 5 Metre Garden Firework Fountain that has somehow escaped the clutches of the legislation (but should still be safe to use) provided it's done sensibly following the instructions carefully.

Here are the NEC's for each item -
2 x Nite Siren Fountain (8g NEC each)
Colorful Wheel (7.5g NEC)
2 x 5-Shot Star Candle (2.75g NEC each)
Rainbow Green Fountain (5g NEC)
2 x Mega Fountain (6.9g NEC each)
Rainbow 4-Colour Fountain (18g NEC)
2 x Golden Glittering Fountain (5g NEC each)
Fujiyama Fountain (21g NEC)
Silver Glittering Fountain (BS 7114 Part 2 1988 compliant so no NEC)

Apart from the BS 7114 escapee which has 5 metres stated on it, the rest have SPECTATORS MUST BE AT LEAST 15 METRES AWAY on them even though they are small items, the current crop of small FI fireworks (separate and selection box) ALL have this ridiculous safety distance printed on them.

Good though these fireworks may be, you certainly DON'T require a 15 metre safety viewing distance at all. Fair value 3.5/5 ;)
