From what i've seen, the South seems to get a pretty poor selection of fireworks in the majority of its shops and even store chains when compared with the offers seen up North. For example there will be the same product (take war/air hawks) and in the south theyre not below £15, but I've heard of them being £13 or less close to scotland. Same seems to go for other products too, and if it's not price its the selection available which seems to be lacking. What do you think?

Being based in Kent i feel qualified to comment. Your thoughts are generally correct. The availability of good fireworks in the south at reasonable prices is a problem. It's caused by the fact that retailers are few and far between so those that do exist can monopolise.

That said there are exceptions to this namely Essex Fireworks who have some cracking deals.

Referring to air hawks, you can get 2 packs for 24.99 on bogof (that's 12.50 a pack )

i agree with Rich, essex fireworks is one of the only very reasonable/cheap place down here really.
The worst place for fireworks is by far the south west, it is terrible down here, and the few places we do have are overpriced

Yeah Somer i suspect you guys get a bad deal and have to rely on the warehouses/supermarkets to get a half decent deal.

I think where we are is one of the worst too, theres hardly any all year rounders near Liverpool.

There used to be The Firework Warehouse just up the east lancs, where I started to visit a few years ago but thats now closed too :(

I wouldn't say Bristol is too bad my self if you are okay to travel in about 30 miles radius. I have a couple places can go to. Got monster fireworks and I think place call skyburst on a38 but those 2 are very expensive compared to other places with easier parking. Got a specialist in clevedon, placed call ranjani, and 4 ranges in my area. But agree up north seems to get the better deal of selection and price.

Yes exactly there are a few garden centres which stock all year round and seasonals but you've got to go out hunting for them
very true, and sometimes the all year garden centre stockists are very overpriced, theres one that want £56.00 for a TNT carry Pack 1 when you can get one for £25

Know what you mean just down to luck, its a shame because it's getting almost impossible to find old stock now but you see more up north

it is luck, a) whether you can get good vfm and b) whether you can get good stock, as i've already posted, chaplins had some good old stock, but their the only seasonal round here that do. Did descover that a place called Trago Mills in newton abbot had some great prices on TNT and fireworks int., will have to remember them for next year
