The season is already underway with the MCC Vs Yorkshire. The 3 competitions that make up the season are the County Championship, Natwest T20 Blast and Royal London One Day Cup. For those who don't know much about cricket the Blast is a good place to start as it is faster and more enjoyable than the longer forms of the game. For those wo do fancy trying out a bit of cricket, these are the first class counties and location of their home ground:

Derbyshire: The County Ground, Derby
Durham: Emirates ICG, Chester-le-Street
Essex: The County Ground, Chelmsford
Glamorgan: SWALEC Stadium, Cardiff
Gloucestershire: The County Ground, Bristol
Hampshire: The Rose Bowl, Southampton
Kent: The St Lawrence Ground, Canterbury
Lancashire: Old Trafford, Manchester
Leicestershire: Grace Road, Leicester
Middlesex: Lords, North London
Northamptonshire: The County Ground, Northampton
Nottinghamshire: Trent Bridge, Nottingham
Somerset: The County Ground, Taunton
Surrey: The Oval, South London
Sussex: The County Ground, Hove
Warwickshire: Edgbaston, Birmingham
Worcestershire: New Road, Worcester
Yorkshire: Headingley, Leeds

This year is, on paper, going to be one of the best seasons for a while. Nearly all of the counties have very competitive squads this year, and there have been several very high-profile signings, including:

Kumar Sangakkara (Overseas), Surrey
Martin Guptill (Overseas), Derbyshire
Chris Gayle (Overseas, T20), Somerset
Mahela Jayawardene (Overseas, T20), Sussex
Aaron Finch (Overseas), Yorkshire
Glenn Maxwell (Overseas, T20), Yorkshire
Corey Anderson (Overseas, T20), Somerset
Jesse Ryder (Overseas), Essex
Shahid Afridi (Overseas, T20), Northamptonshire
Brendan McCullum (Overseas, T20) Warwickshire

A full list of county signings can be viewed here: County cricket ins and outs 2015 | Cricket | ESPN Cricinfo

Hopefully it'll be a competitive season, and there will be some fantastic games of cricket :)

A huge signing was completed earlier, Warwickshire have secured New Zealand opener and world-renowned batsman Brendam McCullum for their last 7 group T20 matches. McCullum is now up with Chris Gayle as the biggest signings in the competitions history.
